Mary Rita Freeman Provost
Mary Rita Marita Freeman Provost, 92 died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born April 2, 1921 to the late Thomas R. and Gladys L. Freeman. Marita was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She worked for the Wormsloe Historic Site for over 20 years and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and many other organizations throughout her life.
Marita was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Stanley John Provost and her son, Jack Provost.
She is survived by two daughters, Betsy Kameron Jimmy, and Pam Cutting, both of Savannah, two sons, Thomas E. Provost, of Ackworth, GA, and Patrick H. Provost Ginny, of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, John Kerr, Kent Cutting, Kevin Cutting, Jodie Brown, Kelley Monroe, Kyle Cutting, Josh Cutting, Kristen Cutting, Matthew Provost, Brooke Johnson, Stanley Provost, McKenzie Provost, and Addisen Kameron, also seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Burial will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
